Job Purpose
The Service Tech will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating bid specifications and drawings for service projects as well as attending roof walks to gather the necessary information, to include but not limited to, evaluating the roof, taking cores, photographs, measurements, to provide to the Production estimators.
The Service Tech will work out of our Albuquerque office.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review project opportunities and determine Pros and Cons as well as suitability for National Roofing
- Shadow Estimators, Business Development, Superintendents and Project Managers
- Communicate with Contractors/Owners.
- Follow-up and review estimates.
- Maintain accurate and up to date project files.
- Maintain professional development to stay current with industry standards, processes, and techniques.
- Maintain good relationships with prime contractors/owners, staff, and manufacturers.
- Evaluate roofs to gather information for estimating projects. Conduct roof evaluations, test cuts, pull tests, moisture surveys, and deck evaluations.
- Measuring roof dimensions and other critical information, inventory penetrations, & photographed roofs.
- Complete and document punch list items.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years’ experience in commercial construction.
- Knowledge of various roofing types, installation, and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and other bid documents.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of construction methods and project scheduling.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, etc. is a plus
- Must be extremely organized and have the ability to multi-task.
- Attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Solicit, maintain, create, and foster relationships with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, etc.
- Positive work ethic.
- At least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a pre-hire criminal background check & drug screening.
